How does Juvederm^® work?

Juvederm^® solution contains hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in healthy, youthful skin. The solution works in three ways once it’s injected:

• Second, it works to attract and retain moisture over time, so your skin continues to look and feel plump, firm, resilient, and youthful.
• And third, Juvederm^® injections stimulate the production of collagen deep inside your skin. Collagen is a natural fiber that’s produced by your skin. When we’re young, our bodies produce a lot of collagen. But as we get older, we produce much less, and that allows our skin to sag, form wrinkles, and lose natural volume and plumpness. By stimulating the production of collagen, Juvederm^® helps your body restore lost volume and build elasticity naturally over time.

What can Juvederm^® treat?

• Juvederm XC® is designed to treat moderate-to-severe lines, wrinkles, and folds, especially nasolabial folds (the lines that extend from the corners of your nose to the corners of your mouth).
• Juvederm Ultra® XC plumps up thin lips that have lost volume due to aging. In some people, it can also be used to fill in nasolabial folds.
• Juvederm Volbella® XC is also used to plump up lips and provide extra fullness for sexy, pouty results. Volbella can also be used to fill in and smooth out so-called lipstick lines or smoker’s lines, tiny, vertical lines that extend outward from the edges of your lips (also called perioral lines).
• Juvederm Voluma® XC is designed to restore lost volume in the cheek area, defining facial contours while also providing a gentle lift for the midface and lower face regions.
• Juvederm Vollure^TM XC typically is used to treat moderate to deep lines and folds around the nose and mouth, wrinkles sometimes referred to as “parentheses” lines.
